Warehouses and factories often combine office appliances, portable tools, chargers, leads and industrial equipment in one site. Treating that as one simple equipment list can make testing inefficient.
Separate equipment groups
Create practical groups such as office equipment, workshop tools, extension leads, chargers, portable RCDs and three-phase equipment. This helps the provider understand the scope before arrival.
High movement and physical wear
Equipment used around loading areas, storage zones or workshops may be exposed to impact, dust and repeated movement. Visible damage should be acted on immediately.
Battery chargers and fixed work areas
Chargers can be heavily used even if they rarely move. Keep ventilation, manufacturer instructions, cable condition and housekeeping in mind when reviewing the work area.
Three-phase and industrial equipment
Do not assume all industrial equipment belongs in routine portable-appliance testing. Explain how equipment is connected and used so any work outside the testing scope can be identified.
Plan access around operations
Warehouses may have forklifts, restricted zones or shift patterns. Scheduling the testing by area can reduce disruption and improve safety during the visit.
